There are thousands of SEO audit tools available, they’ll all give you big lists of ‘issues’ from “too many H1”, to “meta titles too long”, but does that really help? Perhaps if you’re more technically minded you can work it out and make meaningful improvements.
That said, the two examples I’ve given are common to most audits, but have virtually no discernible effect on search results. In fact, Google’s John Mueller actually debunked the “too many H1” issue in 2021. So is it all snake oil? The answer is, it’s complicated.
Despite the nonsense floating around about SEO, one thing is for sure, optimisation for search is possible:
- Technical SEO or SEF is about making sure your website is as friendly as possible to search engines.
- Content SEO is about ensuring that your content is of high quality and domain relevance (promoting greater domain authority).
- External SEO is all about ensuring you have high quality backlinks to your website.
Search engines want to present users with the most relevant, high quality, content. There’s no tricks or fixes, if you want to rank well organically, your content must be of high quality and endorsed (backlinks) by websites considered trustworthy (only link to high quality content).
With an audit from Honeystone, you’ll discover any technical issues, with simple, plain English, resolutions. You will also receive advice helping you to write content that is relevant, cohesive and concise, as this is generally considered to be of higher quality. And strategies to help you build high quality backlinks.
